This is a photo of the train rail Jews arrived on. In the middle of the tracks are what I believe to be the personal belongings of the Jews that had certainly be brought to the camp. All of those thing used to belong to people who probably didn't make five minutes past the time these things were dumped onto the ground like trash. Things people worked hard for tossed out like trash. Family heirlooms and important documents never to be seen again. This reminds me of the beginning of the novel where Ellie and his sister a getting water for all the people in the streets, and all the things they left behind. Pictures of their family, pots and pans, and so many other things that meant so much to them, left for whoever wanted them.
